Best of the internet-2

The internet is full of crap and I went through the dirt to find something we can feed on and here is what we have….

1.Learn to ask for help

There is something that Brene Brown wrote in her book ‘The Gifts of Imperfection’ that had my head spinning.

‘Until we can receive with an open heart, we are never really giving with an open heart. When we attach judgment to receiving help, we knowingly or unknowingly attach judgment to giving help’.

My head is still spinning.A big part of me wants to believe that her statement is just trash. There is that tiny part that says ‘this is the truth, this is the gospel’ and I want to believe that too.

Whatever the issue we have with asking or receiving help is ,let’s work on resolving the issue.

2.I wish I could print this and pass it out to so many people !

3.I am a TEDtalks addict.Anything to do with Africa ,economic develpment and women fills me with joy or angers me sometimes.

Is it just me or are West African women winning at living?Have you seen Luvvie and her sisterhood?Do you know who Bozoma Saint John is ? These lines have nothing to do with Luvvie’s talk above ,just watch the video ,yeah ?

Another one…

If I have children in the future ,there are three things they are not going to do.One ,they will not go to a boarding school. Two ,they will not go to a university which is more than 5000 miles away from Botswana.Three, they should not think of settling in a Western country.

Let us work to improve our education systems ,our labour markets, our financial systems ,our leadership styles.I wish for us to reach a point where we don’t have to leave our countries because they are failing us but where we settle far away from our ancestors because we like unpredictable weather , we like our thighs cold and numb ,we like bland food and we like lonely individualistic communities.
